Sydney Walla, APCC
Hi, I’m Sydney Walla, an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor based in San Diego, CA. I am passionate about supporting adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults in both nonprofit and private practice settings, which has shaped my ability to meet clients with flexibility, empathy, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story
My Philosophy on the Therapeutic Experience and Change
My therapeutic style is warm, genuine, and collaborative, with directness when it serves your growth. I believe that the foundation of meaningful therapy is a strong, trusting relationship. I strive to create a space where you feel safe to be fully yourself—where you are met with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. While I bring clinical knowledge and guidance, I believe that you are the expert on your own life. Healing does not come from me “fixing” you, but from helping you reconnect with the strengths, insight, and resilience that already exist within you.
My approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices. These modalities support greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and alignment with your values. Together, we will work to better understand patterns, clarify what matters most to you, and navigate obstacles that may be keeping you stuck. I aim to balance empathy and support with thoughtful challenges that promote insight, growth, and lasting change.
I see therapy as a collaborative journey—one where you are not alone, but supported as you deepen your self-understanding and move toward a more grounded, meaningful, and authentic life.
